Wiki World

Great to see that we have a number of schools who are spending some time to explore the uses of wikis.

Palmerston    Papakaio    Ardgowan

On my own wiki (www.deidre.wikispaces.com )I have a page dedicated to the uses of wikis.  There are links to useful backgrounds to wikis, and some links to a variety of school sites that I have sourced.

A wiki is a  free website that you can set up to have control as to who can edit your site. You may want to control the content - or you may wish for it to be open and all readers to be able to edit the content.

Amongst other things it is a great way to create a professional learning  community where ideas can be shared and discussed. What a great way to encourage online discussion and collaboration of ideas.

Wikispaces currently have 100,000 ad free spaces for teachers to create, use and share:  Wikispaces for teachers.
